At the awarding ceremony

Chien defeated Kang Dong-koong from the Republic of Korea (RoK) at the final match to win the championship.

With the victory at the event, the Vietnamese player affirmed his good performance after triumphed at the World Cup held earlier in Ho Chi Minh City.

Duong Anh Vu, another player of HCM City, secured the third prize after beating Vuong Minh Thien of the host Binh Duong province.

Doan Tuan Anh, head of the Billiards and Snooker division under the Vietnam Sports Administration, said the event was a professional tournament, helping Vietnamese cueists improve their skills.

The three-day tournament gathered 64 cueists from Vietnam, the RoK, Japan, and the Netherlands.

Among the 59 Vietnamese players were the top three from the 2018 Three-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup held in Ho Chi Minh City in late May, namely Tran Quyet Chien (global ranking no. 12), Ngo Dinh Nai (global ranking no. 17) and Nguyen Quoc Nguyen (global ranking no. 14).

The tournament saw the participation of Kang Dong-koong and Seo Hyu-min from the RoK, as well as Yoneyama Satoru and Miyahita Takao from Japan. All are well-known international cueists with outstanding performances to date.-
