Body of Norwegian tourist found on iconic river in central Vietnam

Police in the former imperial capital Hue in central Vietnam found the body of a foreign tourist on the iconic Perfume River on Wednesday morning.

The dead body was allegedly belonged to a 31-year-old Norwegian man but his name has yet to be disclosed.

According to local residents, they spotted an unidentified motorbike and backpack at the area near Vong Canh Hill overlooking the Perfume River a day before the body was found naked floating on the river.

Inside the backpack contained personal identification papers which belong to a Norwegian national suspected as the dead victim.

After being noticed from locals, police officers rushed to the scene and conducted an autopsy to identify the cause of death. No initial information about the foreigner’s death has been revealed so far.
