Community-based tourism thrives in Bac Kan

Besides the alluring landscape, the Ba Be tourism site in the northern province of Bac Kan is well known for its rich local cultural values.

Nam Mau commune is now home to 40 households providing homestay services. Visitors to Ba Be Lake have the chance to stay and talk with local people in traditional stilt houses, to learn more about local life.

Community-based tourism has helped to raise incomes and improve local people’s lives. Many visitors come back to Ba Be Lake after enjoying the hospitality and sincerity of the people here.-VNA
