HÀ NỘI — A design contest for a logo celebrating the 45th anniversary of Việt Nam – Canada diplomatic ties and a logo for the Việt Nam – Canada Friendship Association has just been launched here.

The contest is a cultural activity to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, established August 21, 1973, and the Fourth Congress of the association.

The chosen logos will be used at events celebrating the 45th anniversary and activities hosted by the association.

The designs should bear the typical characteristics of the association, transfer clear and effective messages on the association and political and cultural meanings of the two countries. The logos should be easy to remember and understand, with high aesthetic and scientific features, suitable to Vietnamese and Canadian traditions and customs, without copying any logos in or outside the country.

Any Vietnamese individuals and collectives in and outside Việt Nam or foreigners living in Việt Nam can send entries. The number of entries for each author is limitless.

Addressing the launch ceremony on July 11, Nguyễn Thị Hồi, former Vietnamese ambassador to Canada and deputy chair person of the association, said she hoped the contest will attract a lot of people interested in the Canadian people and land, peace lovers and all those interested in people-to-people exchange activities hosted by the association and the Union of Việt Nam Friendship Associations.

The organising board will give one first prize worth VNĐ10 million (US$433), one second prize of VNĐ5 million and three consolation prizes of VNĐ1 million.

The entries can be sent before September 25, 2018 to Việt Nam Friendship Association, 105A Quán Thánh Street, Ba Đình District, Hà Nội. — VNS
