Yao leaf soup is an essential dish of Ede ethnic people during Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.

Ede ethnic people has their own traditional dishes for Tet holiday, which include grilled fish, bitter eggplant with ants, papaya with ants, yao leaf (a wild plant in the Central Highlands region) powder soup and rice

Yao leaves are pounded along with rice powder to create yao powder mixture

Yao leaf powder soup’s ingredients include bones, dried bitter eggplants, green papaya, rice, banana flowers and yao leaf powder, etc. 

Before adding yao leaf powder, bones are stir-fried with other ingredients and then poured into water
